Description of Coffee
A really delicious, balanced single origin, washed coffee from Mario Gallego's Buena Vista farm in Colombia. Supremo is the varietal and we roast to light-medium to keep the sweetness, freshness and berry notes.
Brings a clean, bright and balanced cup of coffee - this is ideal as a pour over filter coffee, but we're liking the vibrancy it brings as espresso, too.

Farm and Producer Details
Belen de Umbria, known as the "noble and coffee city", the main producer of coffee in Risaralda and 10th nationally. Strategically located between mountains along the western mountain range, with a variety of temperatures that make it an ideal place for agriculture, thus focusing on the cultivation of coffee over other crops on a smaller scale.
In the midst of these coffee landscapes, there is a farm that generation after generation has maintained the coffee tradition with great respect and love. Although they have taken pains to introduce new equipment and techniques to their processes, the centre of everything is still the coffee
Buena Vista is the coffee farm that has witnessed hard effort, inexhaustible perseverance and constant evolution. located 7 km from the main park of Belen de Umbria, with a favourable climate being at 1810 metres above sea level, it is surrounded by beautiful coffee plantations, protected by native trees such as walnut, guayacan, cedar, guadua and watered by its own spring water birth, these natural conditions make it a true paradise.
It is there where Mario Gallego and family have made the subject of coffee a unique experience, where their processes guarantee the quality of the coffee bean. Each step is properly controlled from the collection of well-processed ripe fruits, the separation of floats, proper pulping, natural and controlled fermentation with ecomil technology, transport process through a centrifugal mechanical drainer and finally natural drying with advanced technology of intelligent circular equipment, thus ensuring that the result will be the best cup of coffee.
In this way, looking for improvements in the production conditions, Mr. Galician, with the unconditional support of his family, created a company with the name Galician agroindustries, a leading company of high-quality coffee products, equipment and machinery, with 30 years of experience. objective to advance and redesign technology in the field of high-quality coffee. This is how the Buena Vista farm has also been the experimental laboratory, allowing progress to be made in processing technology, from pulping, washing, drying, threshing, roasting and grinding, equipment with the best materials, even manufactured to protect the environment.
There are several projects that the Gallegos want to undertake in their municipality, involving not only producers but also children and young people so that they become infected with this love for coffee, that from childhood they are filled with desire and dreams that they see in this also a business, which working with a lot of effort and dedication turns out to be very satisfying and beneficial.
Love, dedication, care and satisfaction is what it feels like to have a cup of coffee from don Gallego.

About Cata Export
We are artists who decided to swap careers to drink coffee all day long with a purpose.
After training and working for many years as a specialty coffee barista in the UK, we were inspired to move into the green coffee trade in the country we love and know best, Colombia.
We now apply our expertise to find the best beans at origin, whilst matching European quality standards and building long term relationships with local farmers.
We work exclusively in Colombia, exploring the country and creating genuine relationships with farmers, often in vulnerable areas that are relatively new to the specialty coffee scene.
Our aim is to trade the best quality coffee by working in partnerships with producers on carefully selected micro, nano and pico lots.
By doing this we make sure our passion for Colombian coffee benefits the buyers whilst contributing to sustainable farming.
