Petit Yellow Vélo welcomed Alba Development Road Team to their specialty coffee shop and roastery in Crieff to launch a limited release coffee bean to mark their partnership.
Petit Yellow Vélo is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Scotland-based UCI Continental women’s cycling team: Alba Development Road Team. This partnership brings together a shared passion for quality, community, and empowerment of women. Members of the team recently visited the coffee shop and roastery in Crieff, where they collaborated with Petit Yellow Vélo to select a special release coffee bean, marking an exciting new chapter of the partnership.
Petit Yellow Vélo, nestled in the heart of Perthshire, is committed to roasting and serving delicious specialty, single-origin coffee sourced from transparent and ethical suppliers. The team at Petit Yellow Vélo is dedicated not only to delivering exceptional coffee but also to supporting women in business and sport, particularly within cycling.
“As soon as we met the staff and riders of Alba Development Road Team, we knew we wanted to support them in any way we could,” said Jennifer Kaczmarski, Founder and Director of Petit Yellow Vélo. “Their dedication, enthusiasm and values resonate deeply with our ethos of excellence, empowerment and community. Cycling and coffee are an almost inseparable combo, so we are pleased to be able to offer our coffee to the team as part of the partnership.”
To celebrate this exciting partnership, Petit Yellow Vélo is launching a limited edition, single-origin coffee from Guatemala. The beans, carefully sourced by Caribbean Goods—a Scotland-based ethical green coffee importer—were meticulously sampled, including by members of the Alba Development Road Team, to help select the perfect flavour profile for this special release. The coffee will be accompanied by exclusive artwork designed by Scotland-based illustrator Emily Wylde, whose work is featured on both the packaging and supporting merchandise.
“Like many cyclists, coffee is something we take very seriously in the team,” added Bob Lyons, Alba Development Road Team Performance Director & Team Manager. “This partnership with a similarly ambitious, Scottish-based, woman-owned business fits perfectly with what we’re trying to do with Alba Development Road Team. Our riders are not only energised by their monthly coffee bag delivery but by the opportunity to contribute to their own Alba labelled coffee. I am keen for Alba riders and staff to not only get the support they need to perform at the best of their ability, but also have experience of other aspects of sports and business to gain further skills while being part of the team.”
To further celebrate this partnership, the shop will host an exhibition showcasing Alba Development Road Team through the lens of Scotland-based cycling photographer Jude Bytheway. The exhibition is on now and runs until Saturday, 14 September 2024, offering visitors to the shop an immersive experience that celebrates the spirit and dedication of these remarkable athletes.
Cycling and coffee enthusiasts across the UK can purchase this limited edition coffee online here or in person by visiting the Petit Yellow Vélo shop.
